Byron's custom casework and furniture grace exclusive residences across California, from Sonoma and Napa counties to Pebble Beach, and has been featured in Sunset Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle.
With over 45 years experience behind him, Byron started by earning his B.S. degree in Industrial Arts at the University of Northern Colorado. He later went on to study at the College of the Redwoods’ prestigious Fine Woodworking Program, under the mentoring of master-furniture maker James Krenov. Byron also worked for high-end shops building, as a Project Manager, and developing production methods to increase efficiencies. His true niche is flexibility and ability to employ current technology, combined with a master-cabinet maker's trained eye and hand.
The Last Inch continues to expand and explore the range of materials used to create unique pieces. From re-purposing ebony keys salvaged from a Steinway piano as custom pulls, to redwood from a sixties hot-tub into outdoor furniture. Finding creative new uses for salvageable materials is just one of the ways The Last Inch practices sustainability.
Whether you are looking for that final piece to finish your project or beginning your home or commercial project, our design and build services are focused on every detail, down to The Last Inch, providing cabinetry, fine furniture and architectural details that will last for generations.
